How to use a SIM Card with the OSI Wi-Fi Alarm System

1. How to Install the sim card in the OSI Security Alarm System

Step 1: First unplug the power adapter and set the backup battery to the 'Off' position

Step 2: Unlock the sim card holder by sliding it to the left.

Step 3: Lift the sim card holder up so you can insert the sim card.

Step 4: Before you insert the sim card, ensure that the cut edge of the sim card, matches with the sim card holder edge to ensure that they are correctly aligned.

The sim card will be inserted into this slot

Step 5: Gently insert the sim card into the sim card holder.

Step 6: Slide sim card holder to the right to lock into place.

Step 7: Turn the back up battery switch to the 'ON' position

Step 9: Plug the power adapter back into the electrical outlet to restart the alarm system display panel. When the alarm system restarts, within 30 seconds you should see the cell phone bars appear on the top left corner

The OSI Wireless Wi-Fi Smart Home Security System is now ready to use the Sim Card features.

We recommend adding the sim card phone number to your cell contacts and naming it 'OSI Alarm System' so you can easily identify that the incomming call is from your alarm system.

2. How to program the OSI Security System to call your cell number

Step 1: To program a phone number select 'Menu'

Step 2: Then select 'Phone'

Step 3: You can program up to 5 phone numbers

Step 4: Select the '1st Phone'

Step 5: Select this button to enter your 'Cell Number'

undefined

Step 6: Enter your 'Cell Number' into the alarm panel

Step 7: Select the 'Check Mark' to save settings

Step 8: When the 'Dial Phone' button is turned 'On' your cell phone will be called when the alarm is triggered. If you have more than one phone number programmed, the alarm panel will continue to call each number until a phone answers.

Select this button to turn on this feature.

Step 9: When the 'Send SMS button' is turned 'On' a text message will be sent to your cell number when the alarm is triggered. 

Select the button to turn on this feature.

Step 10: Select the 'Check Mark' to save the settings.

Step 11: You will then be returned to the 'Phone Menu' where you can program additional phone numbers.

Select the 'back arrow' twice to return to the 'main menu.'

You have now completed programming your cell number in the the OSI Secuirty Alarm System.

3. How to record the alarm voice message

You can record up to a 20 second voice message, when the OSI alarm system sensor is triggered, it will call the pre-set number(s)and play the alarm voice message.

Step 1: To record a voice message select 'Menu'

Step 2: Then select the 'Record' button.

  The 'Record menu' has 4 buttons:

  1. Record - This button is for recording your alarm voice message. Note: Only one message is allowed.
  2. Play - This button will play back the message you recorded
  3. Delete - This button will delete the message you recorded, so you can record a new one. 
  4. Duration - This button allows you to set the duration of your recording. You can record up to a maximum of 20 seconds. 

Step 3: Select the 'Duration button' to enter the length of your recording.

Step 4: Select 'C' to clear the current setting

Step 5: Enter how many seconds you would like your recording to be set to, then select the check mark to save your setting.

Step 6: Select the 'Record button' to record you alarm voice message.

Step 7: A message at the top of the screen will say 'Busy and waiting please' for about 2 seconds as it prepares to record your voice.

Step 8: You will then see a message that says 'Recording', Start recording your message, as the duration time counts down.

Step 9: When you have finshed recording, your message will be played back to you so you can review it.

Step 10: If you are not satisified with your recording, select the back button to return to the 'Record menu' so you can re-record your message.

Step 11: If you are satisified with your recording, select the check mark to save it. Wait for a couple of seconds while the recording is being saved.

4. A demonstration of how the Sim Card feature works

We will demonstrate how the OSI Wi-Fi Security System Sim Card feature functions when the alarm system is triggered

Step 1: First we will 'Arm' the OSI Alarm System

Step 2: A 5 second count down has been set for the 'Exit Delay" time. Exit Delay - Gives a short period of time to leave your home or business once you arm the alarm.

Step 3: A motion sensor is then triggered

Step 4: When the sensor was triggered, a 5 second count down was set for the 'Entry Delay' time. Entry Delay - Gives a short period of time to disarm your alarm when entering your home or business.

Step 5: Zone 2 - living room PIR motion sensor shows an alert on the alarm display panel.

Step 6: The alarm panel will first send an sms text message to your cell phone number.

Step 7: The text message from the alarm panel will then be received by your cell phone. The 'serial number' of your alarm panel, the sensor 'zone description' and 'zone number'.

Step 8: After the SMS text message is sent, the alarm panel will phone your cell number

Step 9: A phone call from the OSI Alarm Panel is then received by your cell number.

Step 10: When the phone call is answered, a voice message that you recorded on the alarm panel will let you know that the alarm has been triggered. Example 'You are receiving this message because the alarm system is going off at your house' Which will be followed by voice prompts with 4 options:

Press 1 to ARM: Once pressed it will arm the system immediately.             

Press 2 to DISARM: Once pressed it will disarm the system immediately. 

Press 3 to MONITOR: Once pressed you can hear what is going on using the internal speaker on the alarm system.              

Press 4 to TALK: Once pressed you can speak and your voice will be heard through the internal alarm system speaker. This way you can either scare off the intruder or talk to a family Member.

This completes the demonstration of how the OSI Wi-Fi Security System Sim Card feature functions when a sensor is triggered.
