OSI 4G Wi-Fi Alarm System SIM Card Feature - Cell Providers & New Smart Life Phone & SMS Message Feature

We have found that there is a recent change with cell providers in North America where suddenly their sim cards are no longer fully compatible with our alarm system, we are not sure what the reason is behind this but unfortunately we have come to the conclusion that the SIM Card Feature is no longer stable enough to use in North America for now. We are working on figuring out this issue but unfortunately we do not have an estimated date as to when this will be resolved. Please read the below explanations and options that you may want to explore.

In the USA we have found that AT&T, T-Mobile no longer work with the alarm panel, however SpeedTalk Mobile Sim will send an SMS message, but it will not phone a cell phone.

In Canada , a Bell and Telus Sim Card in the alarm panel would send SMS text messages to various other cell carriers, but the alarm panel would not call out to a cell phone. If a Chatr or Fido Sim Card was installed in the alarm panel it will SMS and phone a cell phone that is using the Fido/Chatr cell service.

There are 2 Main Reasons customers want to use the SIM Card Feature.

  1. The SIM Card feature is used for two reasons, either for those who live in remote areas with no Wi-Fi and want to be able to control their alarm system and receive phone/text notifications.
  2. For those who do have Wi-Fi (where system alarm notifications are free) but the customer wants to also receive phone calls / SMS text messages as well. The Smart life app recently came out with a new feature where you can have the app phone your cell or receive an SMS text when the alarm is triggered. However we have tested this new Smart Life feature and no not recommend using it as it is not reliable. Incomming called will be flagged as spam calls from the smart life Calls/SMS service. In addition the incoming phone call is always from a different number.
