What is Phone Call and SMS Notification Settings on the Smart Life App?

Phone Call and SMS Notifications are a new Smart Life notification option created by the developers of Smart Life. This feature requires a subscription fee and is not affiliated with, nor recommended for use with, the OSI Alarm System.

We tested the Call and SMS notification feature provided by Smart Life. However, the phone calls always came from different numbers and were consistently flagged as suspected spam. The same issue occurred with the SMS notification option.

Important:

  • As long as your alarm panel is connected to Wi-Fi, you will receive push (banner) notifications on your phone.

  • Alternatively, you can receive alerts if you are self-monitoring with a SIM card from a recommended cellular provider or if you have opted for professional monitoring with our company, OSI Go Direct.  Click here for more information

Phone Call and SMS Message on the Notifications setting can remain 'OFF'

You may also see this pop up on the Smart Life App, you can select the little faded x to close it.  We apologize for this intrusion from the app as this is not controlled by OSI Go Direct

If you were curious and happen to press on the Cat image above or happen to turn on Phone Call or SMS Message in the app (under the notfication settings) and selected 'Subscribe' you would see the Subscription Service as shown below. Please DO NOT SUBSCRIBE to this service.

Please make sure that the settings under the Notifications Settings page are the same as you see here.

  • SYSTEM NOTIFICATION turned ON
  • PHONE CALL Turned OFF***
  • SMS MESSEGE TURNED OFF***
  • HOME TURNED ON 
  • BULLETIN TURNED ON
