Transferring the Gen 2 Alarm Panel to Someone Else’s Home or Business (New Smart Life User)

If you have set up the Smart Life app on your phone and want to transfer the Gen 2 alarm panel to someone else’s home or business, the instructions below will show you how to do this.

  1. On the current Smart Life App (Wi-Fi) that the Gen 2 is installed on, remove the device.


  2. Then select, 'Remove' again


  3. Ensure that the friend or family member installs the Smart Life app on their phone and they setup an account using their own email address.  Smart Life App.

  4. When the Smart Life account has been setup, select the connections icon on the Gen 2 alarm Panel.


  5. Select the Wi-Fi icon


  6. Check that you are ready


  7. Then select the Airlink icon


  8. Select 'Ok' when your ready and also ensure that you have the Smart Life opened on the phone that the Gen 2 will be added to.


  9. When you press 'Ok' the panel will sart to count down from 180 seconds


  10. You should see the Gen 2 pop up on the Smart Life App, select 'Add'


  11. Select your Wi-Fi network ( it should already be pre-selected) and enter you password.  Ensure you enter it correctly as a small typo will create a connection issue


  12. Detecting 'Network Status' will briefly pop up.


  13. You will then see the OSI Alarm and to the right of it a circle progressively turning blue during the connection process.


  14. You will then see 'Added Successfully' and can select 'Done' at the bottom


  15. You will then see the Gen 2 Alarm SYstem interface.


  16. On the Gen 2 alarm panel display, you will see 'Airlink' Setting Success

 

What happens if I do not see the Gen 2 pop up in step # 10?

  1. On the Home screen of the Smart Life app, select the + sign at the top right


  2. Then select 'Add Device'


  3. You should then see the Gen 2 device, select it.


  4. Select your Wi-Fi network ( it should already be pre-selected) and enter you password.  Ensure you enter it correctly as a small typo will create a connection issue


  5. Detecting 'Network Status' will briefly pop up.


  6. You will then see the OSI Alarm and to the right of it a circle progressively turning blue during the connection process.


  7. You will then see 'Added Successfully' and can select 'Done' at the bottom


  8. You will then see the Gen 2 Alarm System interface.

The new user is now ready to use the Gen 2 with the Smart Life app.

If I connected the sensors and accessories to the alarm panel, will they be deleted when I delete the Gen 2 from the Smart Life app?

When you delete the Gen 2 from your app, the sensors will remain connected to the alarm panel. When the new user adds the Gen 2 to their Smart Life app account, the sensors will appear automatically.

In fact, after you delete the Gen 2 from your app, you can select the Connections icon ((o)), then Sensor icon and you will see that the sensors and accessories are still connected to the Gen 2 alarm display panel.

3. You will see your sensors are still connected
