Smart Life firmware update will not save 8 point resizing on Wi-Fi Camera 'Surveillance Area Setting' located in the 'Detection Alarm Settings' menu

2 min. readlast update: 01.11.2024

If you see the following 8 point square in the Smart Life camera setting under 'Detection Alarm Settings' > 'Activity Area' > 'Surveillance Area Setting'

undefined

and you try to change the setting, save it, but it will not save, and you see a circle that keeps spinning.

To resolve the issue:

Remove the camera from the smart life app. This will cause the camera to do a soft reset and go into the pairing mode. When the blue light turns to red and starts to flash on and off then you will know that the wi-fi camera is in pairing mode. If you do not see this, ensure that you have removed the camera from the Smart Life app and try to do a hard reset by following these instructions: https://osigodirect.kb.help/how-to-reset-mini-camera-floodlight-camera-bullet-camera/ You can now re-add the camera back to the Smart Life app and you will be able to save the surveillance area setting.

The Wi-Fi camera 'Surveillance Area Setting' now has the option to create 4 seperate area with more accuracy.

  1. Area1 (default area) is Red with 8 points that can be moved anywhere.
  2. Next press the + sign beside Area1 to create an additional area such as Area2 is Yellow with 8 points that can be moved anywhere.
  3. Area3 is Green with 8 points that can be moved anywhere.
  4. Area4 is Yellow with 8 points that can be moved anywhere.
  5. After you have created your 'Surveillance Area Setting' and not that you don't have to use all 4 area's, when you select the tab that says area1, area2, area3 or area4, the box will be highlighted with the 8 points.

See example below:
