1) Phone Number Format: If the phone number cannot be successfully dialed or texted, please try adding the area code before the number.
2) SMS/Phone Alarm Rules: After the alarm is triggered, the security panel will send SMS messages in the order of the set numbers.
After the text message is sent, the call will start from the first phone number. When the first number is dialed three times in a row and no answer, the second phone number will be dialed, and so on. If one of the phone numbers is answered, subsequent phone numbers will not be dialed.
(Please note that we are still working on the 'Phone' option as we have noted that if the first number on the list does not answer the call and voice mail answers, the alarm panel will not hang up and call the second number, this is something we are trying to resolve.)
3) SIM Card Unlock (if necessary): The SIM card requires a PIN code, and the carrier usually sets the PIN code to something like 1234 or 0000. You need to disable it on the phone first.
Explanation:
When using a new SIM card in an alarm panel, the PIN code that is associated with the SIM card needs to be unlocked or disabled. The reason for this is that SIM cards are typically protected by a PIN to prevent unauthorized access or misuse. This is especially important when using the SIM in devices like alarm panels, as these devices often need to establish a connection with a network to send signals or alerts.
If the SIM card is locked with a PIN, the alarm panel may not be able to communicate effectively, because it cannot use the SIM card to connect to the network without first entering the PIN. Therefore, the PIN must either be disabled or removed to allow the panel to operate freely without interruption. Usually, this PIN can be disabled by inserting the SIM into a phone and unlocking it before placing it into the alarm panel.
For Samsung (Android) Phones:
- Open Settings
- Go to Security & Privacy (or Biometrics and Security on some models).
- Tap More Security Settings or Other Security Settings.
- Select Set up SIM card lock.
- Toggle Lock SIM card OFF.
- Enter the current PIN (usually 1234 or 0000, unless changed by the carrier).
- The SIM PIN will now be disabled, and you can insert the SIM into your alarm panel.
For iPhone (iOS):
- Open Settings
- Tap Cellular (or Mobile Data).
- Select SIM PIN.
- Toggle SIM PIN OFF.
- Enter the current PIN (1234 or 0000, unless changed).
- SIM PIN is now disabled, and the SIM is ready for use in the alarm panel.
