The range is approximately 100 feet between the Wi-Fi camera and the router.
Solid items such doors, barriers and walls (especially concrete walls) can significantly weaken communication signals and decrease the range to only 50 feet.
You may need to move the camera to a location where the Wi-Fi signal is stronger or get a booster from your network provider. Under certain circumstances sometimes your network provider may even provide up to 2 boosters for free.
We recommend having your router located on the main floor near the center of your home if possible.
A way to test the wi-fi strength of your wi-fi network (router):
- Put your smart phone on airplane mode.
- Enable wi-fi on you phone.
- Open up google chrome and search for 'Speed Test'
- Select 'RUN SPEED TEST'
This is a good way to determine the upload/download speed/signal strength of your router.
Note: When you move to a different location, ensure that you press 'cancel' and then 'retry' so the speed test results are accurate. Turn off Airplane mode when you have finished testing.
