Firmware Update for the Gen 2 Alarm Panel
A firmware update for the Gen 2 alarm panel must be done manually. To perform an update, please follow the steps below:
- Select the Gen 2 Alarm Panel device on your Smart Life App.
- On the app interface, select the three dots (...) in the top-right corner.

- Scroll down to the bottom until you see “Device Update,” If it says 'No Update Available, then there are no updates, however if you see a red dot beside it, that means an update is available.

- If an update is available and you select the red dot , you will see Update Found: V2.3.07 (Our latest version)

Important Note: Customers with Gen 2 Wi-Fi/4G versions with firmware 2.1.29 can update their panels to the newest version. If you would like the newest firmware pushed to you panel, please create a Support Ticket: Click Here. We will require the Virtual ID of your panel to push the new firmware. This is located in the Smart Life app 'Device Information' icon.
Caution: As this is a significant firmware update from firmware V2.1.29 to V2.3.07, We suggest that you go through your alarm panel settings as this update will reset ALL settings, Your sensor & accessory settings should remain intact after the update.
Just in case though I would take photos or note down your accessory settings.

Also note down all other settings on the panel so you will know how to set it back up the way you had it. The passcodes for users will also be reset to default.

If your Gen 2 Alarm System is currently subscribed to our Professional Monitoring Services, please ensure that you take a photo of your SIA settings before updating the firmware.
We have provided the SIA settings below, you will only need to input your 4 digit account number.
Note: Sometimes our HelpDesk emails may appear in your Spam or Junk folder. Please check those folders and add the sender’s email address to your Safe Recipients list.
Performing the Update
- When an update does become available, you would first select 'Update'
Note: For customers who already have V2.3.00 firmware your sensor settings should remain intact after the update.
- Ensure the alarm panel remains powered on until the update completes.

Select “Start Update. You will see a progress bar.
Updates usually take five minutes or less.
The alarm panel screen will also display the following message during the update.
- When the update has completed, the alarm panel will automatically restart and you will see the “OSI Welcome Screen(s).”
First: The Gen 2 “Welcome” screen appears.
Next: When you select “Start,” you will see the “Professional Monitoring” screen offer.
- Then, select “Continue Setup” to choose your language.

- You will then see a screen with a QR Code to download the Smart Life App for iOS or Android.

If your sensors have already been added to the alarm panel, you can skip this screen.
Select “Skip Setup Wizard,” then select “OK” to exit the tutorial.
- You will now see the main Gen 2 user interface menu.

Icon Descriptions

Note: When you tap the SOS button once, the following icons will appear:
SOS Medical – For medical emergencies SOS Fire – For fire-related emergencies SOS Police – For police assistance (audible alarm) SOS Police (Silent) – For police assistance (silent alarm) What Happens When You Press (Tap) Each SOS Option
If your alarm system is professionally monitored, pressing one of the SOS icons sends a direct signal to the Central Monitoring Station (CMS).
The CMS will:-
Call the first contact on your emergency call list.

If that person doesn’t answer, they’ll call the next number.

Ask for your Name, Address, and Password.
Detailed Response Scenarios

SOS Medical
The panel will trigger an alarm. The CMS will ask if medical assistance is needed and, if confirmed, dispatch an ambulance. -
SOS Fire
The panel will trigger an alarm. The CMS will ask if there is a fire and, if confirmed, dispatch the Fire Department. -
SOS Police
The panel will trigger an alarm. The CMS will ask if police assistance is required and, if confirmed, dispatch the Police. -
SOS Police (Silent)
The panel will remain silent. The CMS will call to confirm the emergency and dispatch Police without audible alerts.
🏠 For Self-Monitoring Users
If you are self-monitoring your Gen 2 system (no professional monitoring subscription):

The SOS options will not dispatch emergency services.

You can still use the SOS buttons to trigger an audible alarm, which is useful for alerting others inside your home during an emergency.
