How to Update the Bullet Camera Firmware

Keeping your bullet camera firmware up to date ensures optimal performance, improved security, and access to the latest features.

This specific update fixes the activity area function.

Before You Begin

• Ensure the camera is powered on
• Confirm it is connected to Wi-Fi
• Keep the app open during the update (do not close it)

1. Select the bullet camera device on the Smart Life App
   
2. Select the three dots ... on the top right corner
   
3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select 'Device Update'
   
4. Select the 'Update' 
   
5. Select ' Start Update'
   
6. You will see V1.17.74 updating
   
   
   
7. When the update has been complerted you can select 'Device Update' again
   
   
   
8. You should now see V1.17.74 and it will say 'No Available Updates' as the software has been updated.
   
9. You can select the back arrow key at the top left twice.
   
   
10. Open the menu on the bottom left.
    
    
    
11. Select 'Messages' on the bottom left
    
12. Select 'All'
    
13. Select 'Details'
    
    
    
14. You will see a message that says 'Storage error, please format it and try again
    
15. Select 'Confirm'
    
16. The SD Card will start to format
    
17. Once the card is formatted any present and future motion detection events can be viewed.

Note: You may see past thumbnail images of events recorded prior to formatting the SD Card, these will no longer be accessible.
