What is Phone Call and SMS Notification Settings?

If you have a newer version of Smart Life you may see new options as you see on the below image. Phone Call and SMS Messege are new Smart Life Notification options which require a subsciption fee and do not work with the OSI Alarm System. In order to have SMS Messege or Phone Call feature on the OSI Alarm System you require a SIM Card (subscription required). NOTE: These options are not needed to get regular system notifications on your phone.

To avoid these subscription plan charges pop up windows from appearing. Please make sure that the settings under Notifications Settings page are the same as you see here.

  • DEVICE ALERT turned ON
  • SYSTEM NOTIFICATION turned ON
  • PHONE CALL Turned OFF***
  • SMS MESSEGE TURNED OFF***
  • HOME TURNED ON
  • BULLETIN TURNED ON

If you do not see the notification catagories

Step 2: Navigate to Notifications: Tap on "Notifications".

Step 3: Access Advanced Settings: Tap on "Advanced settings".

Step 4: Enable Notification Categories: Turn on the toggle next to "Manage notification categories for each app".

Step 5: Select an App: Go back to the main "Notifications" screen and select the Smart Life app to customize. (same instructions as above)

Step 1: Get the Sound File

  • Download the sound you want (MP3 or WAV works).

  • Make sure it’s a short clip (long ringtones can be annoying as notification sounds).

  • Save it to your phone’s internal storage.

Step 2: Put It in the Right Folder

  • Using the My Files app (or a file manager), move the file into one of these folders on your phone’s internal storage:

    • Notifications → for notification tones <--- 'Recommended Folder'

    • Ringtones → for call ringtones

    • Alarms → for alarm sounds
