How to set up a scene in smart life to turn the siren on when floodlight light turns on.

It is possibe for the siren to turn on when the floodlight turns on when motion is detected. Depending on how long you have set the light to stay on the siren will stay on for the same amount of time and will turn off the siren when the light turns off.

Clear the cache in the smart life app

  1. First clear the 'cache' on the Smart Life app
  2. Open Smart Life App and select 'Me' on the bottom right side
  3. At the top right select 'Settings' the 6 sided shape
  4. At the bottom select 'Clear Cache' A message saying cache cleared successfully will appear. 
  5. After you have cleared the cache, shut down the Smart Life app and open it back up again.

Creating a scene to turn the Floodlight camera Siren 'On' when motion is detected and the light turns on

Step 1: Open the Smart Life app and select the 'Scene' button at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Select the + on the top right corner. You will then see the 'Create Scene' Menu

Step 3: Now select 'When device status changes'

Step 4: The next screen will display 'All Devices' Select the Floodlight Camera.

Step 5: When you have selected the Floodlight Camera, In the 'Select Function' Menu select 'Light Switch'

then select 'On'

Step 6: Below where it says 'Then' select the + sign

Step 7: Select 'Control Single Device' Then select the Floodlight Camera

Step 8: Select 'Siren Switch'

then select 'On' and select 'Save' and 'Next'

Step 9: Now select 'Save' at the bottom and create a scene name 'Floodlight light On - Siren On' Then select 'Confirm'

A message will display, Automation created. Start using it? select 'Yes' You can toggle it 'On' or 'Off' as needed. 

Step 11: Select the + on the top right corner. You will see the 'Create Scene' Menu

Step 12: On the Create Scene menu, select 'When device status changes'

Then select 'Off' and select 'Save' and 'Next'

Step 18: Now select 'Save' at the bottom and create a scene name 'Floodlight light Off - Siren Off' Then select 'Confirm'

Step 19: You will see a message that says Automation created. Start using it? select 'Yes' You can toggle it 'On' or 'Off' when needed. 

You have now completed setting up the two scenes to turn the siren 'On' and 'Off' . When motion is detected and the light turns 'On' the siren will turn on. When the light turns off the siren will turn off

Note: The duration of time that the siren stays on will be determined by the Floodlight 'Light' Time-delay duration setting. Min 5 seconds and a Max of 180 seconds 

Perform a test to confirm that it is working correctly.
