Step 1: Open the device in the smart life app
Step 2: Select the three dots ... (menu) on the top right corner
Step 3: Select IR Night Vision:
- If set to 'Auto' the night vision will turn on when it is dark and the light will turn on when motion is detected during the night.
- If set to 'ON' night vision will turn on whether it is day or night and the light will turn on when motion is detected during the day or night.
Step 4: Select Detection Alarm Settings:
- Motion Detection Alarm should be 'ON'
- Alarm Sensitivity Level (as per your choice, default is medium)
- Activity Area should be 'ON'
- Select 'Surveillance Area Setting'
- Surveillance Area Setting: Choose which area, the red frame, you want motion to be detected. You can have the motion detected for the full or only only a partial area as per the example below. Movement of trees and plants can set off the motion detector.

Step 5: Select 'PIR set'.
- PIR should be 'ON'
- PIR sensitivity defaults to setting '8'
Step 6: Select the 'Recording Settings'
- Select 'local Recording' (This will record video on the SD Card)
Recording Mode: Set to 'Event Recording' (This will only record when motion is detected. This makes it easier to search for motion activated footage and also saves memory on the SD Card.
Step 7: Exit the settings menu
On the main menu that shows the live video feed on the top half of the screen and the menu icons on the bottom: Night mode, Motion Detection and PIR should be Red, which indicates that that they are 'ON' and Active.
Step 8: Select the 'Light' Icon on the bottom right
- Then Select 'Time Delay' Here you can set how long you would like the light to stay on.
- The slider will increase and decrease how long the light will stay on for.
- Select 'Action' to save the settings.
The 'Switch' Icon allows you to turn the light manually 'ON' and 'OFF' This allows you to turn the light on for the evening if you plan on sitting outside for example.
When no longer needed, turn this switch 'OFF' so the motion detection settings will turn the light on automatically when motion is detected.
Your flood light camera is now properly configured to turn the light on during the evening when motion is detected.
