How to pair the external Keypad with the Gen 2 Alarm Panel

The wireless touch keypad will arm and disarm the Gen 2 security system with one passcode or RFID tag(s).  It is connected to you alarm panel via the eV1527 433Mhz protocol. It's effective communication range can be up to 80 metres without obstacles. The internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery provides power operation for up to 3 months.

Note: The keypad will disarm the Gen 2 alarm panel with the keypad user passcode (max of 1 passcode) or the RFID tags (max of 10 RFID tags). The keypad will not disarm the Gen 2 alarm system using the passcodes that you have programmed into the Gen 2 alarm panel itself.

Power/Ready indicator:

What you see What it means
Blinking Red Battery failure or battery switch is off
Flashing Red, once every 2 seconds Low battery
Solid Red Ready
Pulsating Green Charging
Solid Green Fully Charged

 

**CHARGING THE BATTERY**:

STEP 1: Push the battery switch to 'On'.

STEP 2: Connect your keypad to a power outlet using the included micro usb cable and your cell phone charger.

STEP 3: It will take 2 to 3 hours to fully charge the keypad battery from an empty state.

STEP 4:The power indicator will turn from a pulsating green to a solid green when the keypad is fully charged.

Note: If the keypad has a low battery, the power indicator #2, may flash red once every 2 seconds, indicating that it needs to be charged. When the keypad is not being charged, the power indicator will be a solid red, indicating that the keypad is ready.

**INSTALLATION**:

Before installation, please test the keypad communication range with your alarm panel first.  It is not advised to mount the keypad onto a metal surface as the material can block RF signals between the keypad and alarm panel.

Attach the bracket #15 to the surface of a wall with the included screws. Insert the keypad into the bracket.

**ABOUT THE KEYPAD**:

Sleep/Awake mode

To save the battery power, the keypad goes to sleep within 20 seconds if the keypad is not in use.

User and Admin Passcode

The Keypad uses two 4-digit passcodes.
1. User Passcode is used to arm, home arm and disarm the security system
2. Admin passcode is used to pair, delete RFID tags and change passcodes.
3. Default User passcode is 1234, default Admin passcode is 8888

Note: The keypad will disarm the Gen 2 alarm panel with the keypad user passcode (max of 1 passcode) or the RFID tags (max of 10 RFID tags). The keypad will not disarm the Gen 2 alarm system using the passcodes that you have programmed into the Gen 2 alarm panel itself.

 

**PROGRAMMING**

Pairing RFID Tag

The RFID tags supplied with this kit are paired with the keypad. If not, or if you want to pair more, you might easily pair the tag with your keypad as follows:

STEP 1: Enter admin passcode then √.

STEP 2: Press 1 then √.

STEP 3: Enter a digit from 0 to 9 to designate a unique number for the tag to be paired, then √. The arming, disarming, and setting indicators blink together.

STEP 4: Tap the tag on the read zone. The keypad gives two beeps of successful indication.

Tips: Up to 10 RFID tags can be added.

 

Deleting RFID Tag

STEP 1: Enter admin passcode then √.

STEP 2: Press 2 then √.

STEP 3: Enter the tag number from 0 to 9 to be deleted, then √.

 

Deleting All RFID Tags

STEP 1: Enter admin passcode then √.

STEP 2: Press 3 then √ to delete all RFID tags.

 

Setting User Passcode

STEP 1: Enter admin passcode then √.

STEP 2: Press 0 then √.

STEP 3: Enter the new 4-digit user passcode, then √. 

Very Important: Ensure that you write down and keep the new passcode in a safe place in case you forget it.

 

Setting Admin Passcode

STEP 1: Enter admin passcode then √.

STEP 2: Press 9 then √.

STEP 3: Enter the new 4-digit admin passcode, then √.

Very Important: Ensure that you write down and keep the new passcode in a safe place in case you forget it.

 

**HOW TO CONNECT YOUR KEYPAD TO THE ALARM PANEL**

STEP 1: Set the alarm panel into pairing mode by selecting the sensor icon on the main menu

STEP 2: Enter in your passcode, then select the keypad accessory icon.

STEP 3: Select the + plus sign on the top left. You will have 20 seconds to trigger the keypad.

STEP 4: Enter the user passcode (default is 1234), press the arm icon on the keypad to send the arming signal to the alarm panel. 

STEP 5: The Keypad will sound two long beeps and the alarm panel should say 'Pair Ok'

 

**DOORBELL**

When the keypad has been paired with the alarm panel, selecting the doorbell icon on the keypad should make a ding dong sound on the alarm panel. 

 

**ARMING/DISARMING THE GEN 2 ALARM PANEL VIA THE KEYPAD**

Using User Passcode.

  • Enter user passcode then press Away Arm Icon to away arm.
  • Enter user passcode then press Disarm Icon to disarm.
  • Enter user passcode then press Stay Arm Icon to home arm.

Or Using RFID Tag.

  • Press Away Arm Icon then tap the RFID tag to away arm.
  • Press Disarm Icon then tap the RFID tag to disarm.
  • Press Stay Arm Icon then tap the RFID tag to home arm.
