How to disable the tamper alarm on Gen 2 contact sensors and motion detectors to replace batteries

Tamper switches on the alarm are buttons that get pressed down on by protruding areas of the rear covers. These are in place so that when the alarm is armed or disarmed the alarm will trigger. This way you would be notified if a person was in the home during the day such as a repair guy, and he tried to take out the batteries from all of the sensors so he can come back in at night to break in the house for example.

To replace batteries without triggering the Alarm:

  • Open the Smart Life app
  • Then open the alarm system device
  • Select accessories
  • Select motion sensors, or Entry Sensors (which is another name for Contact Sensor)
  • Disable the sensor in which you are replacing that is lit up in green (or just disable all of them).
  • Replace the batteries

Remember to enable the sensor switches again.
