If Alexa has a challenge responding to a command that is in a different language, for example setting the OSI Alarm Panel to 'Away' which in french as per the photo below would be 'Alexa, loin' , but Alexa does not respond. Creating a routine in Alexa will solve this issue.
Please follow the instructions below to create a routine in the Alexa app
- Open Alexa
- On the very bottom panel select 'MORE'
- Select Routines
- Select the + sign at the top right to add a new routine.
- Select 'Enter routine name' and create a routine name such as "Arm Alarm System in Away Mode" , then select Next.
- Select the + sign beside 'When this happens'
- Select 'Voice' and type in a word or or phrase command that you want to use. Example: The word 'Away' or 'loin' Select 'Add another phrase' if you want to add both. Then select Next
- Select 'Add Action', then select 'Smart Home'
- Select 'All Devices' at the bottom
- Select your OSI alarm system
- When you select 'Select' you can choose either ARM AWAY or ARM STAY.
- Select 'ARM AWAY'
- Press 'Next' and then 'Save' (It may take up to a minute to save the voice routine)
Now you can say 'Alexa Away' or 'Alexa loin' Alexa will automatically arm your alarm in away mode.
