How to create a routine in the Alexa App to Arm Away or Arm Home

Please follow the instructions below to create a routine to Arm Away or Arm Home in the Alexa app

First create the the 'Arm Away' Routine

1.  Open Alexa
2.  On the very bottom select the three lines
   
3.  Select Routines
   
   
4.  Select the + sign in the middle if available or at the top right to add a new routine.
   
5.  Select 'New Routine' to rename the name to  "Arm Alarm System in Away Mode" , then select Next.
      
   
6.  Select the + sign beside 'WHEN - Add an event'
   
   
7.  Select 'Voice' 
   
8. Type the word 'Away'  and then select 'Next' at the top right.
   
9.  Select the + sign  beside 'ALEXA WILL - Add an action', then select 'Smart Home'
    
   
10.  Select 'All Devices' at the bottom
    
11.  Select your Gen 2 Alarm System. For these instructions it's called 'Office Alarm'
    
    
12.  Beside 'Select' , tap  'Arm Away'
    
13.  Then select 'Arm Away' at the bottom of the screen
    
14.  Select 'Next' on the top right and then 'Save' (It may take up to a minute to save the voice routine)
       

Now we will create the the 'Arm Home' Routine

1.  You should still be in the 'Routines' menu
2.   Select the + sign at the top right to add a new routine.
   
3.  Select 'New Routine' to rename the name to  "Arm Alarm System in Home Mode" , then select Next.
       
   
4.  Select the + sign beside 'WHEN - Add an event'
   
   
5.  Select 'Voice' 
   
6. Type the word 'Away'  and then select 'Next' at the top right.
   
7.  Select the + sign  beside 'ALEXA WILL - Add an action', then select 'Smart Home'
    
   
8.  Select 'All Devices' at the bottom
   
9.  Select your Gen 2 Alarm System. For these instructions it's called 'Office Alarm'
   
   
10.  Beside 'Select' , tap  'Arm Away'
    
11.  Then select 'Arm Stay' at the bottom of the screen
    
12.  Select 'Next' on the top right and then 'Save' 
       
13. You can now perform a test with your Alexa Routines. 
    ARM AWAY: You can say 'Alexa Away'
     Alternatively you can also say 'Alexa, Office Alarm Away'
    (You would replace 'Office Alarm with the name you caled your device.)
    
    ARM HOME: You can say 'Alexa Home'
    Alternatively you can also say 'Alexa, Office Alarm Home'
    (You would replace 'Office Alarm with the name you called your device.)
