How to Adjust Motion Alarm Sensitivity (Including Human Detection Users)

Overview
Alarm Sensitivity controls how easily the camera triggers alerts and recordings. Higher sensitivity reacts to smaller movements, while lower sensitivity helps reduce false alerts from busy environments such as roads, sidewalks, pets, or moving trees.

⚠️ Important Behavior to Know
The Alarm Sensitivity Level option is only visible when Motion Detection Alarm is enabled.

• If Motion Detection Alarm is ON, the Alarm Sensitivity Level option will be visible.

• If you are using Human Detection only, this option may not appear unless Motion Detection Alarm is temporarily enabled.

This is expected behavior in the Smart Life app and does not indicate a problem with the camera.

Steps to Adjust Alarm Sensitivity

Step 1: Open Detection Settings

1. Open the Spotlight Bullet Camera in the Smart Life app.

2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.

3. Select Detection Alarm Settings.

Step 2: Temporarily Enable Motion Detection Alarm (If Needed)

If you do not see Alarm Sensitivity Level:

1. Turn ON Motion Detection Alarm.

2. The Alarm Sensitivity Level option will now appear.

⚠️ This can be done temporarily. You may turn Motion Detection Alarm back off after adjusting sensitivity if you are using Human Detection only.

Step 3: Select Sensitivity Level

1. Tap Alarm Sensitivity Level.

2. Choose one of the following:

   • Low – Best for busy areas or frequent false alerts

   • Medium – Balanced detection (recommended starting point)

   • High – Maximum detection sensitivity

There is no single “correct” setting—environmental factors such as distance, lighting, and movement will affect performance.

Step 4: Return to Human Detection (If Applicable)

If your camera is set to Human Detection only:

1. After saving your sensitivity setting, turn OFF Motion Detection Alarm.

2. Confirm Human Detection remains enabled.

Your sensitivity setting will remain saved even after Motion Detection Alarm is turned off.

Additional Notes

• Motion Detection Alarm must be enabled to access:

  • Alarm Sensitivity Level

  • Activity Area

  • Trigger Siren

• These options may disappear once Motion Detection Alarm is turned off, but previously saved settings will continue to apply.
