Gen 2 Alarm Panel Displays 'Offline' in the Smart Life App - What can I do to get it back online?

Reconnecting an Offline Gen 2 Alarm Panel to the Smart Life App

If your Gen 2 alarm panel appears Offline in the Smart Life app, follow the steps below to reconnect it.

  1. Ensure the Smart Life app is open on the phone that was originally used to add the alarm panel.
  2. On the alarm panel, select the Connections icon (((o))).
  3. Enter the System Passcode.
  4. Select the Wi-Fi icon on the left side of the screen.
  5. When the Get Ready screen appears and your phone's bluetooth is turned on as well as you are connected to the 2.4G network, select OK at the bottom.
  6. Select Airlink.
  7. When the Warning screen appears indicating that the Wi-Fi settings will be reset, select OK.
  8. The Airlink countdown will begin (180 seconds). During this process, the offline alarm panel will may disappear from the Smart Life app.
  9. On the phone with the Smart Life app, you should see Devices to be added: 1.
  10. Select Add.
  11. The Enter Wi-Fi Information screen will appear. Verify that the correct Wi-Fi SSID and password are displayed, then select Next.
  12. The app will briefly display Detecting Network, after which the alarm panel will be added back to the Smart Life app. The original alarm panel (store) name should reappear and back online. We have confirmed this behavior through testing with our own alarm panel.
  13. If the alarm panel still shows offline please send the following information:
    a. On the main screen of the alarm panel, hold down for 5 seconds the settings icon (cog icon)
    b. The 'About' screen will display.  Please send a photo of this screen so we can further investigate.

If the alarm panel did come back online please check the following:

Check the Wi-fi Signal strength between the Gen 2 Alarm Panel and your Wi-Fi Router/Modem

  1. On the Smart Life App, select the OSI Alarm device
  2. Select the Pen or thre dots  on the top right
  3. Select ‘Device Information’
  4. Where is says ‘Signal Strength’ , compare the shown signal strength to the Reference beside it. Select ‘Reference’ to determine how strong or weak the signal strength
