Help CenterNo, a subscription to the Smart Life Cloud Recording service is not required if you are using an SD card with your camera.
Each camera includes a 32GB SD card, which supports continuous recording for approximately 3 days. Once the card is full, the oldest footage is automatically overwritten by new recordings, ensuring continuous storage without any manual action required.
If you prefer a longer recording history, the camera also supports up to a 128GB SD card (available locally or on Amazon). A 128GB card provides around 12 days of continuous recording before overwriting begins.
The Cloud Recording option is an additional paid service offered by the Smart Life App developers. While it’s not necessary if you’re using an SD card, some customers may choose it for added benefits such as:

Remote access to footage even if the camera is damaged or stolen.

Longer storage retention depending on the subscription plan.

Backup security in case the SD card fails.
