The Gen 2 alarm systems are standalone alarm panels that do not integrate with one another, however there is a way, by setting up 6 different 'Scenes' on the Smart Life app you can acheive the following. Please note that both Gen 2 devices must be first added to your Smart Life account.
1. When the Gen 2 alarm panel #1 is armed, the 'Scene' will arm the Gen 2 alarm panel #2 and vice versa.
2. When the Gen 2 alarm panel #1 is disarmed, the 'Scene' will disarm the Gen 2 alarm panel #2 and vice versa.
3. When the garage alarm panel is triggered and sounds the alarm, it will trigger the SOS function, sounding the alarm at your front door entrance alarm panel and vice versa.
Scenes to create
Ensure that you are on the 'Scene' Menu
- When Gen 2 panel #1 is Armed -> Gen 2 panel #2 will also be Armed
SCENE: IF GEN 2 #1 Mode: Away -> Then Gen 2 alarm panel # 2 Mode: Away
NAME SCENE: Gen 2 Panel #1 Armed, Then Gen 2 Panel #2 Arms - When Gen 2 panel #2 is Armed -> Gen 2 panel #1 will also be Armed
SCENE: IF GEN 2 #2 Mode: Away -> Then Gen 2 alarm panel # 1 Mode: Away
NAME SCENE: Gen 2 Panel #2 Armed, Then Gen 2 Panel #1 Arms - When Gen 2 panel #1 is Disarmed -> Gen 2 panel #2 will also be Disarmed
SCENE: IF GEN 2 #1 Mode: Disarm -> Then Gen 2 alarm panel # 2 Mode: Disarm
NAME SCENE: Gen 2 Panel #1 Disarmed, Then Gen 2 Panel #2 Disarms - When Gen 2 panel #2 is Disarmed -> Gen 2 panel #1 will also be Disarmed
SCENE: IF GEN 2 #2 Mode: Disarm -> Then Gen 2 alarm panel # 1 Mode: Disarm
NAME SCENE: Gen 2 Panel #2 Disarmed, Then Gen 2 Panel #1 Disarms - When Gen 2 panel #1 Alarms -> Gen 2 panel #2 will also Alarm
SCENE: IF GEN 2 #1 Host Stat: Alarm -> Then Gen 2 alarm panel # 2 Mode: SOS
NAME SCENE: Gen 2 Panel #1 Alarms, Then Gen 2 Panel #2 Alarms - When Gen 2 panel #2 Alarms -> Gen 2 panel #1 will also Alarm
SCENE: IF GEN 2 #2 Host Stat: Alarm -> Then Gen 2 alarm panel # 1 Mode: SOS
NAME SCENE: Gen 2 Panel #2 Alarms, Then Gen 2 Panel #1 Alarms
In this video, I'll show you how to create six separate Smart Life scenes to sync two Gen 2 alarm panels. When one Gen 2 alarm panel is armed, disarmed, or triggered, the second panel will also arm, disarm, and alarm—ensuring they work in sync with each other.
Important: Please note that if accessories were originally added to Gen 2 Panel # 1, the sensors will only trigger that alarm panel. The accessories will not be synced with the Gen 2 Panel # 2. So for example: If a door or window is opened, the Gen 2 Panel # 1 will show the door open warning Icon, it will not display on the Gen 2 Panel # 2.
Updated Feb 3 2026:
A controlled test was performed using identical entry sensors and PIR motion sensors
-
Each sensor was paired separately to two different Gen 2 alarm panels
-
Sensors were not shared between systems — each panel had its own independent enrollment
-
When a door is opened, both panels generate an open-door warning
-
This happens because each panel operates independently
-
Upon activation, the sensor sends out an RF (radio frequency) signal
-
That RF signal is received by both panels at the same time
-
As a result, both panels respond simultaneously when the sensor is triggered
If you had previously setup the Arm/Disarm scenes
In your case, for the panel that does not currently have any sensors added, you can add the same sensors that are already enrolled on the other panel. We recommend adding them in the same order.
Important note: Make sure to add the door sensors first, followed by the motion sensors, as motion sensors are always active and can interfere with the enrollment process.
Once completed, you can perform a test by opening a door and checking that the open-door warning appears on each panel.
