What is the difference between EZ Mode and AP Mode in Smart Life? is AP Mode more beneficial?

EZ (EZ-Connect Mode) and AP (Access Point Mode) are two different modes available when connecting (pairing) your devices to your Wi-Fi.

EZ Mode (indicator on device flashes quick)

  • EZ Mode is used when you wish to connect your device directly to your wi-fi network / router.
  • Depending on the IOS/Android System version you are using you may have problems pairing devices to your Wi-Fi using EZ mode. This is why we always recommend using AP mode.

AP Mode (indicator on device flashes slow)

  •  AP mode, or Access Point Mode, offers you an alternative way of pairing your device with the Smart Life app—especially when you’re having trouble pairing via the regular mode (EZ Mode).
  • In AP mode, the Smart Device broadcasts a hotspot (from the Internal WIFI chip) for the Smart Life app on your Smartphone/Tablet to connect to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. This especially works well if you are having problems pairing devices to your Wi-Fi network using EZ mode. We recommend using AP mode over EZ Mode.
