Here are several things to do if your having trouble connecting your Wi-Fi Alarm or Wi-Fi Camera:

Tip - One way of ensuring if there is an issue with your Wi-Fi Network is to try to connect your product in another household such as a neighbour, friend or family member. If it connects to their Wi-Fi network with no issues then you know the issue most likely has something to do with your Wi-Fi router.

  • Triple check your Wi-Fi Password! We cannot stress this enough. You must enter your Wi-Fi Network Password! In most cases, where our customers have had trouble connecting there products to their Wi-FI, 9 out of 10 times its because they either entered the Smart Life account password instead, the wrong password, or accidentally entered one or 2 wrong characters of thier password. I cannot tell you how many times i thought i was entering the right password but my thumbs were pressing the wrong character the 20 times i entered the password.
  • Your Wi-FI Network is overwhelmed, try unplugging your Wi-Fi router, and leave it for about 1 minute and then plug it back in, also turn off your bluetooth on your phone/tablet while connecting to your Wi-Fi
  • Sometimes Wi-Fi routers need to be updated with new firmware. This can be done simply by logging into your Wi-Fi router via internet browser. You use the login information which is usually on a label attached somewhere on your Wi-Fi router. If this is too confusing, then just ask your Network provider to do it for you
  • It can be very possible that your Wifi Router has frozen and can no longer connect to any additional smart products. This can definitely happen espeically with older model Wi-Fi Routers. Many people do not know realize Network Provider release new improved Wi-Fi Router models almost every 6 months. They are faster, have father reach and most of all geared towards smart products! We suggest that you call your Network Provider and ask them to upgrade your Wi-Fi router to the newest one they have. This is a free upgrade and its done very quickly. Tell them you need a dual band (Router with seperated bands...2.4G and 5G). In most cases this will fix all your issues!
  • if the camera or alarm won’t connect to Internet, despite it was found your SSID, reduce level of security on your router (change from WPA2+PKS to Lower security - WPA2+PKS+WPA+PKS (see the attached picture below).
