Please ensure that the following settings are configured correctly in order for the alarm panel to ask you for a passcode to access the menu or when disarming the alarm.

On the alarm panel, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Menu > Settings > Switch > Keypad Lock.
  2. If the Keypad Lock is set to 'Off,' tap the white and grey square to switch it to 'On.'
  3. Confirm by selecting the check mark.

In the same 'Switch' Menu, select 'Backlight' and ensure it is set to 'Off.' Then, return to the main Menu. When the backlight is set to 'Off', the display will go into standby mode (displaying a black screen) within 30 seconds. You can also manually activate standby mode by selecting the square with a key which is located at the bottom right corner of the main screen.

When the screen turns black and you tap the display, a key icon will appear at the top right corner. To access any keypad buttons, you will need to enter your passcode.

To test the system ensure that the display is in standby mode. Select the 'Arm' button.

Note: You must first enter your passcode to gain access to the keypad buttons. Then select 'Arm' again to activate the alarm.

After the arm delay counts down, when the panel indicates that the alarm is armed and the display is in standby mode, select the 'Disarmed' button. Again, you will need to enter the password to access the alarm panel and then select 'Disarm.'

Important Note: If you select 'Arm' the alarm and immediately choose 'Disarm,' the system won't prompt you for a passcode. This is because the display screen did not enter standby mode (turn black). The screen must be in standby mode, whether it goes black automatically within 30 seconds or is manually put into standby mode. The presence of the key icon at the top right of the screen indicates that a passcode will be required to access the menu.
