OSI Wi-Fi Alarm System (no siren or doorbell sound coming from panel or horn)

5 min. readlast update: 10.17.2023

If you are experiencing issues where the Panel, wired Horn and Wirless Siren (if you have one) is not making any sound when the sensor is triggered or it used to work and now no longer works after reconnecting your wifi or sensors there may be an easy fix for this. For some reason when re-connecting the the Wi-Fi and sensors repeatedly it can possibly (but very rarely) cause an anomoly with the errors within the sensors that prevents the siren and panel audio not to work. If you have experienced this please try the following steps. It should take under 10 minutes

THIS IS WHAT WE WILL BE DOING

  • PART 1 -Fully delete all your sensors directly from the Panel.
  • PART 2 -Unbind the WIFI (clear it and re-connect )
  • PART 3 - Then re-add the sensors.(add from the Smart Life app)

PART 1 -Fully delete all your sensors directly from the Panel.

  1. Go into your alarm panel On your alarm panel select Menu
  2. Select Parts
  3. Select Unbind
  4. Select Detector
  5. Select the Trash Can Icon beside each sensor to delete them all (you should now have nothing listed on this page)

PART 2 -Unbind the WIFI (clear it and re-connect )

  1. On your alarm panel select Menu
  2. Select WIFI
  3. Select Unbind
  4. Now your Wi-Fi should be fully disconnected
  5. Follow these steps to reconnect Wi-Fi FOR IOS FOR ANDROID

At this point lets power cycle the entire display, Turn the battery back up switch from the on position to off on the back of the display (on the left side of the mini USB Port). Then unplug the alarm. This way we can ensure that everything is fully reset. Then put the back up battery to the on position and plug the display into the electrical outlet again. *ALSO PLUG THE WIRED HORN INTO THE DISPLAY*

PART 3 - NOW lets re-add **ONE DOOR SENSOR FIRST AS A TEST** to see if the horn now works before adding all the rests of the sensors. We are going to add the sensor using the Smart Life App. It is much easier to add them this way.

  1. On the Smart Life App select Accessories
  2. Make sure the Door/Window which has the Door sensor installed is in the closed position (both sides of the magnet are close together)
  3. Select the + (Plus Icon) at the top right side. As soon as you do this it will go into pairing mode and is now waiting for you to connect your sensor(s)
  4. All you have to do now is open the door. This is the same thing as pressing the sync switch on the back of the sensor. Of course you do not want to have to pull off the sensor from the 3M tape to do that, so this is another way o f syncing the sensor to the Smart Life app without having to take the senor off the door to press the switch.
  5. The sensor should now show up under Detectors on the Smart Life App
  6. Select that sensor on the list
  7. Rename the Sub Device Name to (front door, back door etc)
  8. Under Zone Attribute Select Doorbell and then select Confirm
  9. Under Device Type Choose Door Alarm and then select Confirm (if you do not choose the Door alarm the sensor will not work. If it is a window you should choose Window Alarm)

Now that you have one door sensor connected. Open the door and see if you now here sound from the alarm panel. IF it does work change the Zone Attribute to Out Arm Active (don't for get to confirm new setting) then Arm the alarm by pressing HOME then open the door and see if the Horn now makes the alarm sound.

IF IT STILL DOES NOT MAKE ANY SOUNDS THEN PLEASE CREATE A SUPPORT TICKET HERE

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IF IT IS A SUCCESS PLEASE ADD THE OTHER SENSORS.

NOTE: Remember to turn off the PIR Motion Sensors when connecting the Door/Window Sensors otherwise it will get confused because the PIR Motion Sensors are always giving off a signal. If you have a PIR Motion Sensor already connected, please turn it off if connecting another PIR Motion Sensor as well.

Once all your sensors are connected to the Smart Life App, Please use the following settings as a guide for seeing the proper ZONE ATTRIBUTES.

Zone Attributes (Mode) Settings:

Out Arm Active: This is the Zone Attribute setting *recommended for Window/Door Sensors*. This setting will make the sensor ACTIVE when you arm the system both by pressing *"Away"* (when you leave the house) or *"Home"* (such as when you are going to bed).

Out Arm Active (without Delay): Same as above except the sensor will trigger immediately and sound the alarm siren without any delay. You would want to use this setting if you want the siren to go off immediately giving no time for anyone to turn off the alarm.

Stay Arm Active: This is the Zone Attribute setting *recommended for PIR Motion Sensors*. This setting will make the sensor ACTIVE only when you arm the system by pressing *"Away"* (when you leave the house). The sensor will NOT be active when you arm the system by pressing "Home". This allows you to walk freely in the middle of the night to get a glass of water without triggering the motion sensors for example.

Stay Arm Active (without Delay): Same as above except the sensor will trigger immediately and sound the alarm siren without any delay. You would want to use this setting if you want the siren to go off immediately giving no time for anyone to turn off the alarm.
