How to set the Motion Sensor so it is NOT Active when I Arm the Alarm System in as "STAY" (such as before going to bed)

In order to have your motion sensors not active when you press the "Stay" Arm button (usually right before you go to bed), you must have the "Zone Attribute" for those sensors set to "Out Arm Active" Out Arm Active is the setting you use when you only want that sensor active when you are out and nobody is at home. This sensor will NOT be active when you press the "Stay"Arm button  (Note: Stay Arm Active is the Zone Attribute you use when you want that sensor active when you arm the system BOTH as Stay and Away.

The fastest way to change the sensor "Zone Attibute" is to do it on the Smart Life AppFollow the steps below:

  • Select the Alarm device on your Smart Life app
  • Select "Settings"
  • Navigate to "Accessories"
  • Select "Detector" ( the specific sensor you want to change settings on )
  • Select "Zone Attribute" (if making changes on the actual alarm display, this will be called MODE)
  • Select "Out Arm Active" and press SAVE.

The sensor should now only be active when you arm the system when you press AWAY and NOT be active when you press STAY ARM.

If you wish to do this directly from the Alarm Display follow these steps:

  • Select Menu
  • Select "Detector" ( the specific sensor you want to change settings on )
  • Select the Sensor which you want to make changes to the "Zone Attribute" (on the display this is called Mode)
  • Select "Mode" (if making changes on the actual alarm display, this will be called MODE)
  • Select "Out Arm Active" and press SAVE.

The sensor should now only be active when you arm the system when you press AWAY and NOT be active when you press STAY ARM.
